And, as its own thing, Show manages to stick to its internal mythology, while mixing its more dramatic arcs with spots of comedy and levity, and remains interesting and engaging, all through its 20 episodes.

Beauty Inside basically takes Dramaland’s recent-ish penchant for rom-coms with a distinct fantasy twist, deftly mashes it with a well-rounded, well-executed collection of classic rom-com tropes, casts two very capable and very attractive actors as our leads, and then scores it all with a very enjoyable OST sprinkled with everything from ...1. Show is a lot fresher and funner than its trailer might suggest. I’d felt rather uninspired by the various teasers and trailers that Show had put out prior to its premiere, so I was pleasantly surprised that Show is fun and breezy right away, from episode 1. 2. Tropes abound, but Show makes it work.2. Show toggles two timelines through its entire run. This can feel a little disorientating at first, but hang in there, because it only takes about an episode or so, to find your bearings with the set of characters peopling the two timelines. 3. Because this is a very twisty story, part of the thrill of watching this story for the first time, is being mind-blown by the twists.
