The canik mc9 is definitely better than a stock shield plus. The only way to make the shield a better shooter is to install an apex trigger kit. The apex trigger kit for the m&p shield is the best micro pistol trigger in existence but it's $169 where the canik trigger is free. IMO the Caniks that fill roles the best are the Elite SC for CC, Rival for range/comp, and I just really like the Mete sfx for home/general use. Any one that you can comfortably shoot.
