The perception of volleyball after 40 years of not many Men playing it is it is a "Girl's Sport". Culturally the US has a lot of masculinity issues IMO and it's looked down upon if you play a "girl's" sports. Many athletes instead opted for more "manly" sports such as Football, Basketball, Track, etc. The leading distance scale will revolve around 0 which is right above the player’s head (inline with body).
